Waffles & the Purdinator

Waffles are important to Dad. As evidence I point to his beloved waffle maker, which he keep carefully seasoned with a special cloth. He was very shocked to learn that I planned a waffle sandwich for him, because waffles apparently do not take part in sandwiching. Ever. But I persisted and he did admit that the Purdinator is a fine sandwich after all. You will be better off making this sandwich with a lame-o store bought waffle (like an EggO), unless you can make thinnish waffles at home. So here’re the specs:

a fresh waffle, buttered while yet hot

pure maple syrup - don’t you dare buy anything lesser!

a roasted sweet potato, cubed - stick the cubes into the waffle holes

pickle relish

carrot gravy (see the biscuit page)
