Coveralls & Aprons

My first (and sadly only) pair of coveralls are too big and cut off, but are legit mechanic grade. The dude who sold them to me probably thought I was needing a Halloween costume, ‘cuz like a complete newb I got lost trying to find his shop amongst all the poorly marked gravel roads (and had to call him to get unlost) and then pulled in awkwardly over the potholes in a Prius. I just wanted grubbies. As these $10 used coveralls were dearly bought in terms of my pride, I feel like I earned them somehow and wear them with an absurd satisfaction. I have now started fantasizing about better fitting coveralls.

Aprons have always seemed like a nuisance to me because the neck part is annoying. But that all changed when I met Marian the Apron Lady, who comes to my town on the 4th of July for our street market. I coveted her aprons on first sight but I waited a whole year before I had the courage to buy just one. The next year I bought 3. This last July 4th I bought 2 more and commissioned a 3rd! It’s an obsession and I now identify as an apron-wearer. Marion’s aprons are always getting compliments. Anyway, now that aprons are part of my style, I’d like one of these cross-back smock-ish kind.
